ISC Plenary Meeting for Tuna and Tuna-like Species in the North Pacific Ocean, Sapporo Japan

Nereus Alumni and Research Fellow at Duke University Andre Boustany attended the International Scientific Committee for Tuna and Tuna-like Species in the North Pacific Ocean (ISC) plenary meeting in Sapporo, Japan, from July 13th to July 18th.

The ISC, founded in 1995, “is an intergovernmental body dedicated to advancing fishery science of the North Pacific tuna and tuna-like fishes through cooperation and collaboration”. The plenary meeting provided an opportunity for attending scientists to share “complete and accurate fisheries and biological data”  and other information relevant to tuna and tuna-like species conservation efforts, in accordance with the ISC member’s primary obligation of facilitating the exchange of research data.
