Daniel Dunn, Nereus Senior Research Fellow in the Marine Geospatial Ecology Lab at Duke University, had the opportunity to speak with experts from the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS) at the UN Open-Ended Informal Consultative Process (UN ICP) on Oceans and the Law of the Sea meeting. From April 6 to 10, Dunn observed how DOALAS, a major knowledge-broker, engaged with scientists and encouraged sustainability. His visit marked the second time that members of the Nereus Program attended the UN ICP.
