Journée du millième halieute (Day of the Thousandth Fisheries Scientist) conference

Nereus Alumnus Mathieu Colléter (UBC) participated in the Journée du millième halieute (Day of the Thousandth Fisheries Scientist) conference, which took place at Agrocampus Ouest in Rennes, France, on September 16.

The conference commemorated the 1000th graduate of the agronomy-fisheries programme at Agrocampus Ouest, exploring both the past and future of the fisheries sector, with perspectives from state and European institutions, fishing companies, NGOs, consulting companies, researchers, agri-food companies, and energy companies. Colléter participated in the roundtable discussion “From Targeted Stocks to Ecosystems”, bringing his expertise in ecosystems impacts of fisheries, ecosystem modelling, and indices for an ecosystems approach to fisheries and climate change.
