International Atomic Energy Agency meeting on ocean acidification and the economic impact on fisheries and coastal society

The International Atomic Energy Agency‘s (IAEA) ‘Final Research Coordination Meeting on Ocean Acidification and the Economic Impact on Fisheries and Coastal Society’ took place from July 18 to 22 in Monaco. The meeting, organized by Nereus Alumni Marc Metian, included Nereus Director of Science William Cheung as an invited expert.

Set up in 1957 under the United Nations, the IAEA promotes safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies around the world. The IAEA’s Ocean Acidification International Coordination Centre, under which the meeting was conducted, works to “communicate, promote, and facilitate activities in science, capacity building, and communication” intended to serve the scientific community and other relevant stakeholders on the issue of ocean acidification.
