Nereus Director (Science) William Cheung will be a plenary speaker at the ‘International conference on scenarios and models of biodiversity and ecosystem services in support of decision-making’ from August 24 to 26 in Montpellier, France. Nereus Fellow at UBC, Muhammed Oyinlola, will be in attendance.
The conference, organized by the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Scenarios Network (ScenNet) and open to scientists, experts in the field, and policy makers, will encompass scenarios and modelling applications in marine, freshwater, and terrestrial systems. Particular focus will be paid to recent advances in human impact modelling on biodiversity and ecosystem services, horizon scanning gaps in knowledge, and the use of models in decision making, among other topics.
