Daniel Pauly honoured with Peter Benchley Ocean Award

Daniel Pauly, the chair of the Nereus Steering Committee, received the Peter Benchley Ocean Award for Excellence in Science. Named in honour of Peter Benchley, the author of Jaws and a leader in marine conservation awareness, this Award is given in acknowledgement of outstanding achievement across many sectors of society leading to the protection of our ocean and coasts, and the communities that depend on them. This award, along with many others over the years, is testament to Dr. Pauly’s tireless effort to improve our understanding of fisheries—big and small—and their impacts on marine ecosystems around the world. Congratulations, Dr. Pauly!
